The Dubai office is a coordinating center for its marketing and R&D collaborations for the Middle East.
The business model of the company is to combine IP & product development for long term sustainable revenue generation and value addition, with R&D services and collaborative research programs for/with other parties to generate revenue stream and market focus.

Under BIOPHARMACEUTICALS, a substantial pipeline of biosimilars is being developed. Two of its biosimilars AVDESP™ and AVENT™ being produced in Malaysia will be going into clinical trials in India in 2011. The group focuses on pathway engineering and development of novel expression systems, development of product specific bioassays and design of novel animal component free production media, generation of over-expressing stable cell lines, development of proprietary expression platforms and novel, scalable processes in microbial and mammalian systems.
BIONUTRITION focuses on developing scientifically validated, nutritional bioactives from traditional Indian medicinal plants, for prevention or treatment of degenerative conditions such as diabetes, obesity, CVD and bone health. Avesthagen also works on performance and stress, skincare and digestion through use of proprietary tools. TEESTAR™ a bioactive helpful in prevention of Diabetes is available for marketing.
BIOAGRICULTURE focuses on stress resistance and nutrition enhancement in plants. It hosts two wholly owned subsidiaries and has a collaboration with the Groupe Limagrain. Triple Star™, MnSOD and other genes that help in salt and other stress tolerance are available for licensing.
In SCIENCE & INNOVATION, products and technologies are being developed through collaborative R&D with global partners in the life sciences industry. Over the years several large scale collaborations have emerged from this program and evolved into new ventures. Others have also attracted equity investments in the parent company.
Through its AVESTAGENOME™ project Avesthagen has exhibited its ability to handle large scale human genome projects.
Avesthagen has established world class, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in India that include, in addition to its general lab space, clean room, a radio isotope labs, a high throughput sequencing and genotyping facilities, a bio safety level P2 green house space for transgenic plant experiments and trials, as well as, through one of its partners, access to irrigated land for field trials.
